The anniversary of God's creation

Yesterday (09/30/2008) American congress was closed due to Rosh Hashanah, a Jewish holiday. Does this happen every year?

Well, the new year started. This is the anniversary of God's creation, according tho the Jewish information. I would think that the first portion of the reading cycle will start on the New Year's Day ( is this an Asian way of thinking?), but it doesn't. If I was to decide, I would like to start a brand new year with the very beginning of Genesis...

My love and best wishes for the new year to the Jewish people and also to the Christians, branches, who are grafted into the root (Judaism)!
